This is an on-site position Monday – Thursday with flexibility to work remotely on Fridays and is based at Red Lobster’s corporate office in Orlando, FL
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Senior Specialist, Total Quality and Food Safety will be responsible for supporting and partnering with Red Lobster’s Total Quality and Food Safety team to ensure the highest standards of food safety and quality throughout Red Lobster’s supply chain. This role will interact with both internal and external stakeholders to facilitate compliance with the safety and quality of Red Lobster’s ingredients, finished goods, supplier processes and restaurant operations. This position will also assist suppliers with Red Lobster’s food safety requirements, new product development initiatives and driving continuous improvement in quality and food safety programs.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Understand and advocate for Red Lobster’s food safety culture related to food safety and food quality requirements with suppliers, distributors and internal stakeholders
- Administrate Red Lobster’s incident management reporting system to support evaluation of product quality submissions from restaurants
- Onboard new suppliers and maintain information for existing suppliers in Red Lobster’s Quality Management System
- Support and follow up with suppliers to ensure compliance with all Red Lobster’s food safety documentation and specification data requirements
- Organize product samples and coordinate product reviews as required for multiple product categories; assist with the collection and communication of data results to suppliers and Red Lobster stakeholders
- Monitor status of supplier corrective action plans and follow up regularly to ensure completion
- Support the collection of product data and assist with analysis to provide support to Strategic Sourcing, Culinary, and Operations teams during cost optimization, reformulation reviews, and development of new menu items
- Support the Total Quality management team on the creation and refinement of Food Safety and Quality SOPs
- Track and publish recurring KPIs and dashboards related to supplier quality, food safety and restaurant operations performance to a broad group of stakeholders using existing tools
- Assist Total Quality management team in the development and refinement of reports on food safety trends, supplier and restaurant performance
- Evaluate existing functional processes and systems to recommend and implement process improvements based on expert knowledge gained
- Perform routine administrative duties as needed
- Perform special projects under the direction of the Total Quality management team
REQUIRED TECHNICAL SKILLS:
- Bachelor’s degree required with preferred background in foodservice operations, food science, engineering, business or public health
- Expert level skills with Excel and SharePoint required, with proficiency in other Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to quickly learn and master third party product incident management and product quality management systems
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple cross-functional projects simultaneously
- Demonstrated critical thinking skills, intellectual curiosity and the ability to troubleshoot and support dynamic food safety and food quality scenarios
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- Previous experience in foodservice operations, foodservice manufacturing or Supply Chain business environment preferred
- Strong interest in developing a career path in food quality and safety, with a passion for food and hospitality
