Overview
The Income Tax Analyst will assist management in the annual preparation and review of income tax returns, compliance related processes, estimated tax payments, income tax accounting and federal/state tax credit program support. Additionally, the analyst will assist management with federal, state, and local income tax audits with the ultimate goal of minimizing audit assessments.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Income Tax Compliance – Prepares annual income tax returns supporting workpapers and tax calculations for US federal, foreign, and state jurisdiction filings. Reviews and prepares timely responses for all federal and state income tax notices.
- Estimated Tax Payments – Prepares quarterly estimated tax payments for federal and state purposes.
- Fixed Assets – Prepares/maintains state tax adjustments and quarterly fixed asset projections.
- Federal, State, and Local Income Tax Audits - Handles tax audits (including scheduling, information responses and daily auditor contact).
- Charitable –Prepares tax returns for the company’s charitable organization.
- Monthly/Quarterly Federal/State Tax Credit Reporting – works with external service providers to ensure monthly/quarterly recording of federal and state income tax credits to the general ledger. Liaison with operating companies for any questions regarding program administration
REQUIRED TECHNICAL SKILLS
- 1-4 years tax experience in public accounting or comparable industry experience
- Knowledge of tax preparation and research software
REQUIRED EDUCATION:
- Bachelor of Science in Accounting
