Overview

The Corporate Accounting and Automation Systems Engineer will act as the lead front-end administrator of Red Lobster's Oracle Hyperion Financial Management (HFM), Financial Data Quality Management Enterprise Edition (FDMEE), Oracle Data Relationship Management (DRM), Oracle EBS Suite ERP systems and UIPATH Robotic Processing Automation (RPA) solution. This role requires an understanding of both financial planning and reporting systems processes as well as Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). The administrator will work closely with accounting, IT, and other groups to support business needs and drive continuous improvement in financial processes, including designing, developing, testing, and implementing robotic process automation solutions. They will also help lead the lead the month end financial close process.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administration of financial systems, including maintaining metadata, rules, and member lists, developing reports, creating locations and scripts, and granting user access.
  • Serve as an IT business partner to the various finance groups to understand their needs and challenges and translate business requirements into technical specifications. Facilitate regular multi-functional team meetings.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of our financial processes, meeting the needs of both GAAP reporting standards as well as Finance internal reporting needs. Analyze and communicate service and support request metrics to ensure performance objectives are met.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify business processes that can be automated via RPA and design efficient automation solutions that meet business needs and objectives.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues with RPA solutions and provide technical support to end-users.
  • Stay current with the latest industry trends and technologies related to Digital Process Automation. Participate in code reviews and contribute to the development of coding standards and best practices.
  • Provide support to business partners and end-users. Minimal off-hours monitoring required during the close. Conduct training sessions as needed. Update and distribute instructions and documentation for the various tools supported.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, policies, and regulatory requirements related to financial reporting, working closely with both internal and external auditors.
  • Manage the accounting processes around Capitalized Software, including software purchases and development costs, ensuring compliance with GAAP.
  • Participate in other adhoc projects related to system upgrades, improvements, and integrations with other financial systems.

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, Computer Science or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of business/technology work experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of corporate accounting or auditing experience.
  • Understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting standards
  • Proficiency in financial system administration, including maintaining rules, metadata and member lists, ensuring data integrity, handling security access, and developing reports.
  • Proficiency in RPA development and scheduling.
  • Proficiency in related tools such as Excel, Oracle Smart View for Office, and other financial reporting tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, having the capacity to interpret complex financial data and recommend continuous improvements to business processes.
  • Self-motivated, skilled at both oral and written communication with the ability to collaborate with multi-functional teams.
  • Experience in leading projects, including system implementations and upgrades.

 

Preferred Skills and Experience:

 

  • Oracle EBS administrator experience, including managing planning applications, maintaining metadata and business rules is highly preferred.
  • CPA and/or Masters preferred.
  • UIPATH experience.
  • Experience with other Oracle EPM products.
  • Proficiency in Excel VBA (Visual Basic for Applications) for automating tasks, creating custom functions, and enhancing spreadsheet functionality.
  • Certified Public Accountant
